Environmrntal Pollution

Man, environment, and pollution - the concept is closely related to each other. Active environmental pollution has led to a global environmental problem - the destruction of the environment of human existence. Many scientists are asking themselves the question: whether justified scientific and technological progress? After improving the conditions of our life, it inevitably leads to disaster environment? Increasing human pressure may eventually lead to the extinction of mankind as a species. And one reason for this is garbage ...

Already it is no secret that today the main environmental problem of the developed state is the release of debris. The latter decided to divide into three categories: construction and household waste (inert), industrial waste (toxic) and chemicals and rubber (toxic). Packaging materials stand out! In the EU, for example, in 1990, was produced 50 million tons of packages on recycling were sent to only 19%. Today, the rules require that at least 60% of products were in the nature of secondary raw materials, with 90% of them were subjected to secondary processing.
To date, garbage disposal include burning, or dumping - both are absolutely not justified. So where is the exit? Some environmental organizations advised to dispose of trash as follows: re-use of the processing as a secondary raw material, the regeneration cremation and burial.

Impact of increasing green house gases

The report also notes that in the coming years, food prices will rise at a moderate pace - at the same time with increasing temperature up to 2050. After the same in 2050 with a further increase in the average temperature in the developing countries will experience decline in agricultural production, which will inevitably lead to a spike in prices. The authors propose to strengthen mechanisms to mitigate the adverse effects of climate change and to adapt to them. Scientists from the London School of Economics argued that each new person born on Earth will increase the amount of greenhouse gases - people use electricity, drive their cars, eat food, shop for various items of life. And as with every generation of people growing needs then to meet our requests have to develop industry, transport, etc., but it's all pollute the environment and delivers the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Thus, the researchers concluded that the birth of children - one of the most important factors of global environmental problems - climate change - wrote The Washington Post. British NGO Optimum Population Trust after the study concluded that contraceptives - a good way of warming, and it is much cheaper than wind and solar power.

Environmental Protection of Russia

Air quality in most cities in Russia leaves much to be desired. Thus, in 135 cities of the high level of air pollution or very high, at 34 there is a concentration of impurities than 10 MPC. These data are contained in the public report, "On the state and Environmental Protection of Russia in 2008, which this week has been published at the RF Ministry of Natural Resources. At the same time, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has made some changes to the list of cities with very high levels of air pollution - he declined na12 cities, but at the same time, it includes 7 new cities. As the report notes, the capital of 100% of city dwellers live in conditions of high and very high levels of air pollution in St. Petersburg - 2% less, and on the Kamchatka region, Omsk, Novosibirsk and Orenburg regions - 75%.
In 2008, emissions from stationary sources have decreased by 556 thousand tons (by 2,7% in comparison to 2007), volume amounted to about 20 million tons.

The biggest growth in emissions in 2008 were observed in the manufacturing industries - about 7 million tons, works for the extraction of minerals - about 5,5 million tons, enterprises engaged in production and distribution of electricity - 3 million tons.Reducing emissions has been made possible thanks to a decrease in the extraction of minerals (in 678 tonnes) and at processing plants (in 398 tons). These indicators show some stabilizing. But at the same time, the observed increase in emissions at factories that produce and distribute electricity, gas and water (255 tons), "- noted experts of the Department of Environmental Protection and Ecological Safety of the RF Ministry of Natural Resources.
